Mastodon, Cloudflare, and Phanpy.social
Phanpy.social not loading images
I’ve been having issues with Phanpy.social not loading images on my Mastodon timeline. I’ve been trying to debug this issue for a while now, and I think I’ve finally found the culprit: Cloudflare’s Hotlink Protection. Instead of turning that option off, I’ve added a Configuration Override to my Cloudflare account to allow Phanpy.social to hotlink images from my blog.
Cloudflare Bot Fight Mode
I’ve also noticed that Cloudflare’s Bot Fight Mode is detecting POSTs to my Mastodon instance’s API as a potential threat. Since my instance is not under bot attack, I’ve turned off Bot Fight Mode for now. I’ll keep an eye on this and see if I need to turn it back on in the future.
