iPhone 14's AOD
Update (2023 Oct): Even though the AOD didn’t account to much battery consumption on a day-to-day basis, over time and in a span of a year or so, it did contribute to the battery degradation of the iPhone 14.
Some users seem to experience faster battery degradation when using the iPhone 14’s always-on display feature, but even though this might be the case, I might have found ways to alleviate this by doing the following:
- Turn off “Raise to Wake”
- Flip the screen face-down when you’re not using it (e.g. when leaving it on the table top)
These two seems to have improved the battery efficiency of the AOD, with the Home and Lock screen usage at 2% over the 24-hour period that I’ve used it.
